Hi, My name is Glen, I am the founder and "Minister of the Word" for New Hope Gospel Ministries . Let me take a moment to tell you a little about myself and what led me into this ministry. New Hope Ministries

I was born on August 21,1949 in Council Grove, Kansas. From my birth, my parents always took me with them to SONday School (SONday is my preferred spelling for the first day of the week.) and Church. My earliest childhood memory is going to church with Mom and Dad and seeing a truck in the back with my initials (GMC) on it's tailgate.  Going to church every Lord's Day has been a way of life for me from my birth.

From the time I was in third grade, Mom and Dad always sent me to Church camp for one week each summer.  These summer experiences were a vital part of developing my relationship with Jesus.  Once in Church Camp during my high school years, I came upon an idea for a lesson on Christian living that I felt was kind of good. I pestered the director until he let me share that illustration with my fellow campers. God had already put a seed in me for the teaching ministry.  I visited a Church Camp after I had graduated from high school.  The speaker was President Bill Lown of Manhattan Bible College in Manhattan, Kansas.  I was impacted by his message and made a lifetime commitment to serve God.

The Church that I attended when I accepted Christ as my personal Savior and in which I was baptized had a little blue sign on the wall to the right side of the congregation. It said "Only on life, it will soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last." That sign has stuck in me all of my adult life. I have desired to do nothing more than what I could do for Christ.

After High School, I attended one year at Manhattan Bible College in Manhattan, Kansas. (It is now called Manhattan Christian College.) I ended going back for a third semester, but at the time my interests were more in the area of automotive, than ministry. I transferred to Kansas State College at Pittsburgh, Kansas. In May of 1972, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology. My major was automotive technology.

I moved to Phoenix, AZ. And worked for one and a half years in various automotive related jobs. But one thing haunted me while in Phoenix. I wasn't contented. During my last semester at Manhattan Bible College, I had preached at a little church in Wabaunsee, Kansas. The summers during which I was attending Kansas State College, I worked on the railroad during the week and preached at my home church on weekends. I also continued preaching on weekends at Osage City between the second and third summers of my years at Kansas State College (a 15 month long ministry.)

In Phoenix, I remembered how contented (happy) I had been while I was preaching in Kansas. I was feeling the Lord tugging me to enter into the full-time ministry. After a few weeks of calling on the Lord and struggling with-in myself, I decided to accept the call. I began planning my future in the preaching ministry.

A letter was sent to my home church in Osage City, Kansas requesting to be ordained into the ministry. Since they remembered my preaching ministry there, they were more than glad to ordain me. (For several years prior, people had asked why I wasn't going into the ministry or when was I going to go into the ministry. At that time, I wasn't ready, but they knew and deep down inside, I knew that my life was to tell others about Jesus. On December 16, 1973, I was ordained into the ministry at Osage City Christian Church in Osage City, Kansas.

In January of 1974, I moved to Joplin, MO and entered Ozark Bible College (Now Ozark Christian College). I studied there for three and a half years, working at a steel fabrication mill during the evenings and preaching at a little church in Richards, MO on weekends.

I did not pursue a degree from Ozark because I already had a degree from Kansas State College. What I did do was focus on Bible classes that would help me be better prepared and skilled as a minister.

In May of 1977, I moved to Wasco, CA and accepted the preaching ministry at Wasco Christian Church. It was here that I taught through the life and teachings of Jesus Christ using a harmony of the Gospels for the first time. It impacted me when I realized that it took me three years to get through it.

In 1986, I accepted a ministry at Carson Christian Church in Carson, CA. Again, I taught through the life and teachings of Jesus Christ using a harmony of the Gospels. Again it took me three years to complete the series.

At various times throughout my adult life, I had dreamed of being in business for myself. Not any "business" would do, however. If I were going to have my own "business", it would have to be a ministry to Christians all over the world. It would have to be the Lord's business.

In the summer of 1995, I registered New Hope Gospel Ministries with the State of California with the hope of somehow making a successful business out of it. At that time, I did not know how I was going to accomplish it, but it was a start.

In October of 1995, I shared the dream of telling others about Jesus with a co-worker that had been in business as a successful entrepreneur. A few days later, he came back to me excited about my dream. He was impressed and wanted to discuss how I could make this dream a reality.

Since that time, I started developing my business plan and working on a financial cash flow statement to show where the money would flow from and to. With the help of my friend and some others that the Lord brought into my life, I was able to develop the business idea into a viable concept. And thus New Hope Gospel Ministries and "Getting to Know Jesus" was born.

Today New Hope Gospel Ministries is a exciting ministry reaching out to young and old, new Christians and older Christians with the exciting opportunity of spending three years-just like the Apostles and Jesus' early followers-"Getting to Know Jesus" .
