Many people are wearing bracelets, necklaces, key changes and other paraphernalia with "W.W.J.D." on them. When we stand before God on the judgment day, He isn't going to ask us what kind of car we drive or own.  He isn't going to care what neighborhood we lived in or what kind of clothes we wore.  He isn't going to be concerned about who are parents are or what they do.  He isn't going to judge us on the job we had or whether we belonged to this club or group.   He isn't going to care whether we went to this church or belonged to that denomination.  He isn't going to tell us we didn't pray enough or put enough money in the offering plate either.

I don't want to be like Michael J. ---
I Want to be like Jesus! ---

Michael J. who?  Michael (or any other person for that matter) has done things that you would not want to follow as a role model.  (Read Romans 3:23) "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  No Michael will ever heal you the way Jesus can.  No Michael loves you like Jesus does.   No Michael ever sacrificed his life to save your life the way Jesus has.  No Michael ever died to pay the penalty for all of your wrongs or save you from eternal death.   AND NO MICHAEL HAS EVER RAISED FROM THE DEAD to prove his power over death!!!

What human being could be more valuable to be like than Jesus?  What could be more important in your life than your relationship with Jesus?  No athlete, political figure or entertainer will ever do for you what Jesus did when He died on the Cross for your sins!  Nothing is more important, in your life than who Jesus is.  Nothing that will give you the peace and hope that knowing Jesus will give.

No position, place, or thing will give you the joy and peace that Jesus gives.  No other person has ever done anything as significant for your life in comparison with what Jesus did?

Make Jesus Your Role Model ---

Solomon, who the Bible says is the wisest man that ever lived, concluded that all of life hinged around what we do for God.  He writes about his experience in the book of Ecclesiastes.  In Chapter 12, he says in verses 13-14 "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter:  Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.  For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil."  Nothing is more important than living your life in a way that pleases God.  Jesus came to give us an example to follow so we could see how God wants us to live.

Jesus is our example of how God wants us to live.  The best way to "...fear God and keep His commandments..." is to study the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, His only Son.

Part of the reason for Jesus coming and living among men was to set us an example of how God wants us to live.  He says (in John 13:13,15), "You call me Teacher and `Lord’ and rightly so, for that is what I am… I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you." In his first epistle, Peter also writes (I Peter 2:21-24), "To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps. He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth. When they hurled their insults at Him, He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats. Instead, He entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed." Jesus came to set us an example as to how God wants us to live our life.

Employers Want People Like Jesus Working for Them! ---

He is the living example of the Fruit of the Spirit "Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."  (Galations 5:22-23)   Jesus is trustworthy, honest, dependable, caring, helpful, compassionate, respectful, punctual, and hard working.  Jesus is a man of integrity that no one needs to fear or watch lest He do something wrong or harmful to you.  How many of you would like to have someone like that working for you, over you, or with you?  How many of you would like to have a role model like that that you could follow?  Would you like to be seen as that kind of a role model by others?

Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life!

Jesus said, "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6 NIV). In John 14:12, He states, "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in Me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." Before He had gone to the cross, and before He instituted the Church, Jesus declared that the only way to life is through Him! Later, Peter, speaking in behalf with the other Apostles, told the Jerusalem Sanhedrin that "Salvation is found in on one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 NIV) He knew that the only way we can have life after death is to acknowledge who Jesus is and what He did. There is no one or no thing in the world that is more important than your relationship with Jesus Christ. No amount of good living, kind acts, helping others can do for you what Jesus did on the Cross.

The World is Seeking to Know Jesus ---

In John 12:21, soon foreigners came to Jesus' Apostles and said, "We wish to see Jesus"..  They had heard about Him and wanted to see Him and hear Him for themselves.

The Apostle Paul declared in Philippians 1:21 that, "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gian.  If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me.  yet what shall I choose?  I do not know!  I am torn between the two:  I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body."  Indeed, He wrote in his first letter to the Corinthian Church, "For I seek to know nothing among you but Jesus Christ and Him crucified. (I Corinthians 2:2).   This verse is the "motto" for New Hope Gospel Ministries.

The Bible points us to Jesus ---

The Old Testament points people forward to the Cross on which Jesus Christ died and paid the penalty for all of our sins. The New Testament points us backward to the Cross and to the Christ who is the central figure in all of everything pertaining to God and to this earth. When you get to the point, everything in history, everything today, and everything in the future centers on who Jesus is in your life.   These are significant reasons why He ranks over Mohammed, Buddha, or any other religious figure.  This is one of the many reasons why you want to study the life and teachings of Jesus.All of the physical beauty and strength, intellectual intelligence, and years of "good" living cannot equal what Jesus Christ has to offer. There is no car, home, job, relationship, possession, or activity that can do as much for you as what Jesus did when He died on the cross for your sins. Truly, NOTHING is as important as knowing Jesus.
